The Revolutionary War.

That title is in the heart of all Americans - the breaking point that permitted us to create our nation of liberty, freedom and equality. But what caused it...what lead up to that hot point where a few, small colonies in the American continent chose to take on the most powerful army and navy in the world?

We will begin analyzing those causes...

This Week:
IN THE NEST - Colonies Begin to Roost [1587-1752]

"For we must consider that we shall be as a city upon a hill. The eyes of all people are upon us."
John Winthrop
Massachusetts Bay Colony Leader, 1630

We will continue analyzing the early days of the 13 Colonies who were maintaining SELF GOVERNMENT just before the Revolutionary War.

It was a time in which the world would change forever...thanks to our ancestors.

Be ready to name the next 11 PRESIDENTS! - make sure you know their names (first and last) - you do NOT need to know the dates of their administrations (that was a typo last week). Here's the sheet if you need another one.

Remember, you will receive a clue each week not only WHERE Kelvin is, but WHAT he is. And he will only be able to move from state to state - so he is in a state right next to the last one he was in (where ever that was)...

And remember, you have to be quick to get the clues, since that naughty, naughty...whatever he is...keeps erasing the clues as soon as the NGB gets them.

More clues coming this week...

This Week:
IN THE NEST - Colonies Begin to Roost [1587-1752]

"If no restrictions were placed on the colonies, they would flourish."
Sir Robert Walpole
Prime Minister of England (1607-1763)

The mighty BRITISH EMPIRE stretched across the seas to expand their colonial hold - especially in their 13 American colonies on the eastern seaboard of the Atlantic. It was during the days following the Glorious Revolution thathose colonies did flourish - becoming wealthy while maintaining SELF GOVERNMENT.

It was also the age of MERCANTILISM, where the colonies existed only to serve their mother country.

But, it was also during this time the English Monarch looked the other way if the colonies did something that did not exactly follow the rules....as long as the king received his payment from the colonies, he maintained what would be known as SALUTORY NEGLECT...

...that's abouto change...

Be ready to name the next 11 PRESIDENTS! - make sure you know their names (first and last) and dates of their administrations. Here's the sheet if you need another one.
