The War of 1812 ended with the Treaty of Ghent. And while it did not change anything radically between the U.S.A. and Great Britain, it changed America! The Era of Good Feelings, James Monroe's Administration, provided not only a zeal of VICTORY and PATRIOTIC SPIRIT, but a lack of political opposition. John Quincy Adams lost respect with his Corrupt Bargain (we'll talk about that), with his political finagling, which opened up the White House to a man of the people - a man who would provide WHITE MALE SUFFRAGE (all the men can now vote) in our nation...
