This Week:
HATCHED! - Launching a New Nation [1789-1800] - continued

"People need freedom, choices, and room to improve, and people should not pay too much money to their government."
Thomas Jefferson

John Adam's Alien & Sedition Acts caused some people distress on a Constitutional level - but a new President, Thomas Jefferson, would return the swing back to the people having more power - and a reduction in the power of government. This week we will analyze the Revolution of 1800 - and a new sense of Democracy...

SINCE WE DID NOT HAVE TIME until Wednesday to go over the PRESIDENTS, we moved that test to THIS MONDAY.

Remember to go over the "5s" - George, James, John, James, James, William, Calvin . . .

You can also use the PRESIDENT MAP, if that helps you too...

Here's the PRESIDENTIAL RAP song, it that helps...

Be ready to know the first 33 PRESIDENTS! - make sure you know their names (first and last)!

Here's the sheet if you need it again.

# 19 - John Adams
- is due next Monday.

If you want to work ahead click here for the next reading link, and here for the next questions link. READ THE READING before you complete the questions.

CURRENTS due this week.

To be announced.

We will continue the THIRD EXPEDITION COMPETITION...the questions will cover the PACIFIC COASTROCKY MOUNTAIN and SOUTHWEST regions...and [you guessed it] your ZINGERS...go over your Mission Report Sheets and be prepared...

KELVIN REPORT!

So WHAT is Kelvin and WHERE is he?

    1. Hi Ashleigh,

You didn't tell me what specifically you were referring to - but if I have it right, did you mean in the calendar on Monday?
That is your reading questions - due every Monday. This week questions for Reading #18...

If you are referring to something else - let me know.

  2. Mr. Johnson, what book are we reading for our daily reading questions? Just wondering. I would like to get the book and read it on my own.

    1. Avery,

It's from Joy Hakim's awesome book collection, U.S. History, A Story of US. I asked her, and her publisher, last year if I could scan and use her books for you guys - they both said it's OK.

I really recommend anyone in class buy the set - it is one of the best I have seen ever!
